The Arts Gold Awards VIP Opening is a glamorous and enjoyable event which only comes around every two years. 50 artists have been selected as finalists in this exhibition of fine art out of over 200 entries from all around New Zealand and the top prize winners of the $5,000, $3,000 and the two merit awards of $1,000 will be announced. There will be live music, delicious Central Otago wine, beer and exquisite finger food to enjoy.

The judges Cam McCracken, Director of the Dunedin Public Art Gallery, Fiona Campbell Director of the Real Art Roadshow and Brian Wood, an independent art curator and writer from Wellington will discuss their choices. This is a chance to get dressed up and enjoy fine art and good company. Tickets to the Art Awards Evening are $30.00 each and are available from i-Sites throughout Central Otago or online. From Saturday the 17th of October the exhibition is open to the public and you will be able to view the exhibition of finalists' work and vote for your favourite. Also on Saturday afternoon at 2pm the will be a tour of the exhibition by the judges and everyone is welcome to come along this free event at the Russell Henderson Gallery.
