ARTIST OPEN STUDIO WEEKEND 

This is a relaxing self drive tour around artists’ studios in Central Otago and promises to be a wonderful two day event. The Open Studio Weekend will feature a talented line-up of diverse artists.  Visitors, as well as locals, are encouraged to join the arts trail - take this opportunity for a drive out into the hidden hideaways of our beautiful region and enjoy a new and different experience during the Easter break.

In these historic gold mining towns, over 50 artists are opening their doors to visitors - some work from old stone buildings, woolsheds, their humble workshops or the spare room or to create their art and for many of them this will be a completely new experience.  People driving the Arts Trail can pick up promotional maps of the open-studio locations with artists’ details. The trail maps will be widely available from i-Sites and can be downloaded below.  There will be exhibitions in local galleries and cafes along the way, so take a break and enjoy this art too.

If you are not able to explore the Arts Trail on the 7th and 8th of April, some artists can be contacted directly to arrange a visit – you can find their contact details listed in the artist directory on our website.
