The call is out for entries for Teviot Valley’s second annual fruit fight. An event that is bigger and better than ever, it celebrates the cherry season and especially targets the summer influx of seasonal workers to the region.

The main focus is a competition for teams of six people to complete an obstacle course against the clock, while opposing teams pelt them with second-grade mushy cherries! The sheer joy on participants’ faces last year told the organisers they had created a winning formula and there is a lot of people eagerly looking forward to it being even messier in 2016!

New to Cherry Chaos 2016 is a Cherry Cooking competition, with “cherrylicious” categories including sweet and savoury cherry pies, cherry cake, cherry slice, and sweet and savoury cherry condiments, ideal for those who might not wish to race and be bombarded with squishy cherries, no age restrictions it's kids against the grannies!

Also new for 2016 is a “Slingshot Hit the Spot” activity for the kids and vertical bungy cherry challenges.
In addition there will be stalls, with refreshments and hot food, and live music from local band Excell.
