  • PIMM'S O'CLOCK WITH SUE WOOTTON

When most of the country has had a dreadful summer and we have enjoyed our usual abundance of sunshine we thought we should celebrate our climatic blessings with a celebration during NZ Book Month.

“Still a-buzz with the energy, stimulation and positivity generated” from her participation in the First International Asia Pacific Poetry Festival in Vietnam, attended by 80 poets from 27 countries, Dunedin Writer & Poet Sue Wootton has graciously agreed to join us.

Born in Wellington, raised in Wanganui, Sue trained and work ed as a physiotherapist in Dunedin and overseas. She graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature in 2003 and in 2008 was the Burns fellow joining the likes of Janet Frame, Roger Hall, Keri Hulme, James K. Baxter, Maurice Shadbolt, Michael King, Owen Marshall, Ruth Dallas and James Norcliffe, all past holders of this illustrious award.

Sue Wootton has won many poetry competitions, and has also received a wide range of awards and prizes for her writing. She is also a very engaging and talented speaker.

Pimm’s O’Clock with Sue Wootton (2 hours, no interval) starts at 4.00pm on Saturday 24th March at the Lake Dunstan Boat Club, McNulty Inlet, Cromwell.

Tickets: $15 (includes Pimms & nibbles) are on sale at the Cromwell iSite
