Lizzie Carruthers

A farmer all her life, Lizzie has worked closely with a range of animals. This experience of getting to know individual animals, both on the farm and as family pets, has enabled her to uncover and admire the many human characteristics animals portray.

Even though she has always drawn she has focused her painting, the last few years, on the application of colour using oils and acrylics.Her ability to draw and render form is well illistrated in the worksin this exhibition, as is her incesive eye capturing aspects of each animals personality.

Carruthers' rich and playful humor is reflected in the titles ofthe paintings. "I have given each of the animalsa back story through a whimsical and sometimes topical title.

Cafe open Mon & Thurs 8.30-4pm, and Fri, Sat & Sun 8.30am to late with evening dining available.  Closed Tues & Wed.

Dinner bookings are essential and to be made by 5pm to secure your table.
