What to Bring:
1. All the bits that you have taken off your piece offurniture. Before the class it is best to remove the oldcoverings. Keep these and bring them along to class asthey will become the pattern when cutting your newcoverings.
2. Bring any materials taken from the piece you arerefurbishing e.g. kapok, stuffing, broken springs, woodensupports, screws, snapped elastic, buttons, piping etc.
3. Your new fabric for coverings. Reg is able to order andbring fabrics particularly marine, industrial and leatherfabrics. If you need advice ring him and talk to him andhe will advise you before you purchase.
4. If you need to do a lot of sewing bring your ownsewing machine (and extension cord) as this will giveyou flexibility during the class (Reg does have a sewingmachine available to use during class time).
5. Depending on your fabric you may need to use heavierweight needles. Size 16/100 for heavy cottons, 18/110for upholstery and 19/120 for leather. If unsure aboutsewing threads or needles don’t be afraid to ring Reg foradvice.
6. Reg supplies all the tools you will require for theweekend this is part of the course costs.
7. Depending on your project you may need variousamounts of other materials such as wadding, calico etc.These basic materials can be purchased very reasonably from Reg.
