Writers Retreat on August 13th 14th led by Gerri Power ad out at Ophir at Flannery’s Backpackers 

Writing your life story is a way to greater self-awareness and a way to leave a personal legacy for the future. As a method for understanding ourselves and connecting with others, there may be no equal to telling our life story. It is a way of empowering ourselves by getting to deeper understanding of our life experience and what it means to us.

Weaving together poetry, stories, focused reflection, meditations and vivid writing exercises that create a framework to use in telling your life story, you will learn how to make the transition from memory to memoir, and soon have many small stories or vignettes. There are powerful writing invitations to help you bypass your critic, and stories by other writers to encourage you whether you are just beginning your writing journey or already on the path.

You will learn how to take life stories and craft them into a memoirs. You will explore it through vivid imagery, honest voice , compassion and deep awareness of the larger issues at play.

Weekend costs $80.00. 10 - 4pm

Gerri Power

Gerri Power founder of Anam Cara Writing Journeys is based in Auckland. Gerri is a credited master coach and mentor. She has trained extensively in the use of writing for personal growth, creativity, healing and transformation. Her work is enriched by her studies in poetry and journal therapy.
