A comedy opera featuring leading Otago singers Emma Fraser, Julien van Mallearts, Andreas Hirt & Michelle Willyams and pianist Julia Horsnell
Be part of a madcap and satiric look behind the scenes at the process of creating an opera! In First the Music and then the Words, a composer and writer not only have to create an opera very quickly, at the same time they have to deal with two very scary prima donnas … a hilarious one-act opera from the pen of the man who didn’t poison Mozart
Pergolesi’s famous light operette The Maid Becomes Mistress reveals how a clever scheming servant plots to become the wife of her employer … with the help of the dumbest valet ever to grace the stage.
These two comedy light operas form The Perils of Strong Women and feature leading Otago singers, Clare Barton, Emma Fraser, Michelle Willyams, Andreas Hirt & Julien van Mallaerts with pianist Julia Horsnell
