Maniototo Sporting Heroes Exhibition

This exhibition has been organised by the Maniototo Early Settlers Museum (Maniototo Museums) and is part of the REAL New Zealand Festival. It celebrates the people from the Maniototo who have been selected to represent New Zealand on an international level. There are 89 sportspeople featured from 11 different sports. Amongst the more well-known names are Tania Murray, Peter Petherick, Andrew Hore, Mandy Smith and Sean Becker.
The exhibition caters to adults and children alike. Along with the information panels, display cases, and audio visual elements (including a slide show and a DVD), there are a number of interactive features for children to touch!
A Maniototo Sporting Heroes booklet has been produced in conjunction with the exhibition and tells the stories of the people featured in the exhibition. It is available for sale for $15 at the exhibition.
The Maniototo Sporting Heroes exhibition is being held in the newly renovated Jubilee Museum on Leven Street in Naseby. It is open daily from 10am - 4pm throughout September and then 10am - 4pm during weekends and 1pm - 4pm during week days throughout October. Entry to the exhibition is by donation only.
