Liz Kempthorne is a contemporary artist living in Central Otago, New Zealand. She paints the familiar environment but with a personal vision.

The paintings are abstracted from the immediate landscape and may have connections with art history, or with contemporary events and people. However, they are also about the process of painting, the challenge in applying and manipulating paint, whether oil or gouache, and the dynamics set up within a work. She has a solo show on at the lovely Bank Cafe.

Friendly daytime cafe located in the main street of Clyde Central Otago. In house baking including our own scrumptious chew and other delights. Open breakfast lunch and snacks. Ozone coffee. our cheese rolls are large and legendary ( like our owner!!)
