Attention all artists! Be quick Entries close 20th of September!
Artists this is your big chance to be part the Arts Gold Awards 2013. Judges will select around 50 artists from all the entries to be finalists in this prestigious national contemporary art competition.
The winner of the Art Excellence Award will receive $5000 and the Central Otago Artist Award will receive $2000. This year the judges are Jamie Hanton the Director of The Blue Oyster Art Project Space in Dunedin and Felicity Milburn, curator from the Christchurch Art Gallery. On the opening night the judges will discuss the reasons for their choices when announcing the winners. This is a ticketed formal event held on Friday 25 October at Central Stories Museum and Gallery in Alexandra.
At the close of the exhibition the $1,000 prize will be presented to the winner of the Viewers’ Choice Award which is determined by votes submitted both at the exhibition and via the online gallery. Voting opens on the 26th of October. All those who vote in the Viewer’s Choice Award will go into a draw to win a pack of fine Central Otago wine.
