The Lake Hawea Hotel is proud to announce the Lake Hawea Summer Festival. From the 28th of December until the 2nd of January, plenty of artists and performers will come from the whole South Island for a great new year’s party, at the iconic Lake Hawea. This year the vibe will be totally different. 6 days of live performance for everyone. All genres will be showcased:

- Drum & Base and Electro music on the 28th with the Rhythm and Alps pre party, ticketed event. Featuring RL Grime, Spor and Skepta

- Food eating competition and fun games on the 29th. Just to enjoy the lake and its surroundings before the big kick off.

- Kiwi country and folk legends The Waratahs will be taking to the stage on the 30th with a local support act Jenny Mitchell. Free event.

- Hawea Nu Yeah Party. United Production is bringing the best of all types of music for a unique party. The party is open to all ages, it makes for a great night with Sam Manzanza, Anna Van Riel, Julian Temple Band, The Killer Seas, Wanaka Ukuleles playing, with more acts to follow.

- Paul Ubana Jones will be helping people to recover on the 1st of January. This mellow legendary kiwi artist will be playing his rustic blues and folk. A local support will kick off the show. A really chilled evening for the crowd. Free event.

- The Lake Hawea Rodeo After-Party will kick off on the 2nd from 5pm. Local superstar Jody Direen with Assembly Required will be performing on stage for a good country night. Bucking Bronco Challenge with cash prices. Free event.

During this week of entertainment, the Hawea Hopper bus will be back. Free pick up and drop off to Hawea, Hawea Flat, Luggate, Maugawera, and Wanaka.

Camping facilities will be provided for appropriate ticket holders with activities on daytime.
