Storming Theatre presents Ideation by Aaron Loeb

In the fast paced, high-flying world of global business consulting you’re given 90 minutes to create a plan to save the world… but what if that same plan might be used to damn us all instead?

As the team struggles to navigate the moral ambiguity of their work, cracks in their professional team veneer start to show and suspicion and paranoia take hold. Each logical step takes them further from their ‘comfort zones’ and into a Kafkaesque, but often hilarious, world where nothing and no-one can be trusted.

Storming Theatre is proud to present the first performance outside the US of Aaron Loeb’s darkly comic thriller about a group of consultants engaged on an ethically dubious project.

Winner of the 2014 Glickman Award for excellence in playwriting, Ideation premiered to great reviews at San Francisco’s Playhouse Theatre in September 2014.

ABOUT THE PLAYWRIGHT:
Aaron Loeb maintains dual careers as an emerging US playwright (“First Person Shooter” and “Abraham Lincoln’s Big Gay Dance Party”) and video game company executive and designer. His workplace experience informs his dramatic writing with casual but in-depth authority.

ABOUT STORMING THEATRE:
Storming Theatre was created in 2012 by Sarah Bogle and Tori Keating as a vehicle for producing, presenting and performing off-Broadway style theatrical works in Queenstown, New Zealand.

Storming’s creative, ‘Guerrilla Theatre’ style, approach utilises venues that aren’t typically thought of as performance spaces, ideally those that have synchronicity with the subject matter of each play. The venue becomes part of the magic of theatre - the transformation of an everyday space into somewhere limited only by the imaginations of our audience.

Storming’s first full theatrical production, Picasso at the Lapin Agile by Steve Martin, was performed at the International Departure Lounge of Queenstown Airport during Winter Festival 2013. In 2014 we presented an arts festival play, Human Fruit Bowl by Andrea Kuchlewska, at the Queenstown Arts Centre.
