Artists of Bannockburn features up and coming Filmaker [Mon, 12 September 2022]
Bannockburn Arts is excited to welcome the very youthful Ben Young to the ARTISTS OF BANNOCKBURN EXHIBITION this year. Ben Young is an 11 year-old filmmaker with a BIG future. He has recently made his second film; a ‘nearly silent’ short film called CRASH which we will be playing in the woolshed at this year’s Artists of Bannockburn Exhibition. Not only is Ben a part time resident of Bannockburn, but the film is set in the region, with many Bannockburn residents playing cameo parts. You know who you are… but do your friends and family know about these hidden talents? In Ben’s words: “It’s the 1930’s in Otago and two young, impoverished brothers are tempted into a life of crime…but regret their choice when knocked unconscious and given a glimpse of their ultimate fate.” We have a little trailer to tempt you…Ben himself will be at the opening on Friday 7th between 5pm and 7pm and over the weekend between 10am and 12pm. The film is 15 minutes long and so pop in anytime we will keep it rolling. Not only do you get to see this fun adventure, but you also get to peruse and buy some wonderful local art and support the Artists of Bannockburn in the unique environment that is the Cairnmuir Station woolshed.
